The sun, the primeval source of energy has been generating heat and light for the past 5000 million years. We, in the tropics are dependant on the Sun. Our crops, our houses and even our skin tone is determined by the Sun. Yet, we have placed ourselves at a distance much further than the 92,957,000 miles, which separates Earth from the Sun. The modern technologies have liberated us from this dependency. But it has created crisis like the energy deficit, non-renewable finite life styles etc.

It is here, that we at Ammini have positioned ourselves - To reduce the distance between your life and the dependable, renewable, safe source of energy- The Sun.

Our People
For a company that creates new markets by introducing new and innovative products, people are the biggest asset. We have a good R&D department that has the purpose of redefining the business. Last year alone we have developed 4 new designs. They have been well received by the market.

Right from the company's inception, the founders were very careful to recruit only the people who shared their enthusiasm for the field. High standards were top priority. As a consequence, we have made a name for ourselves and won some loyal customers. In the past 10 years, we have not lost any major client.

Our Track Record
Being operational for the last 10 years we have registered a continuous and consistent growth rate. Our net asset value (NAV) increased considerably over the years. We are planning to go public in the near future.

Our History
The history of Ammini Group of Companies has been marked by many important milestones for the Indian photovoltaic and lighting industry. The Omega Electronics started in 1993. The company's successful growth from a 3-person firm in 1993 to the India's largest producer of Balance of System (BOS) for Solar Lighting systems has been the result of the creativity and energy of a dedicated management and staff of talented people who believe that solar electricity has an important role in the future.

Ammini Egergy Systems

Ammini Energy Systems Pvt Ltd was started in 1995 for manufacturing Energy conservation lighting products. Both Omega Electronics and Ammini Energy Systems Pvt Ltd are located at Pappanamcode, 8 Kilometers south to Trivandrum, Kerala, South India. This continues to be the headquarters of Ammini Group of Companies and manufacturing facility of Omega Electronics and Ammini Energy Systems Pvt Ltd are also located at this place.

Ammini Solar Pvt Ltd (ISO 9001:2000 certified company) was started in 2002 for manufacturing Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Mono crystalline and Poly crystalline). This manufacturing facility is located at Kazhakuttam, 8 Kilometers north to Trivandrum, Kerala, South India.

The first major milestone achieved by Omega Electronics occurred at the end of 1994 when the Company supplied 5000 numbers of Solar Lantern to ANERT. The company was the first in India to achieve this volume, and has continued to grow in capacity every year (current capacity is almost 25,000 Solar Lanterns/year).

A second major milestone was achieved in 1997 with the construction and commissioning of the Ammini Energy Systems Pvt Ltd, a manufacturing facility exclusively for Energy Conservation lighting products and systems. Today this manufacturing facility produces different types of Street lighting luminaries using Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), Electronic Ballasts for Linear and Compact fluorescent lamps, Electronic Energy Meters etc.

One year later, in 1998, a sophisticated R&D facility was set-up in Ammini Energy Systems Pvt Ltd for the Research & Development of lighting systems.

In 1999, a mechanical tool room including a latest computer aided design facility was established at Ammini Energy Systems Pvt Ltd. By this, the Company has become capable of product development (both Electronic and Mechanical Design, Prototyping, Testing, Tool Design, Tool fabrication etc).

In these early years, the company was involved in groundbreaking applications that opened up the photovoltaic market, such as the electrification of nearly 350 remote homes in Rosemala in Kerala in 1998.

In the 2000's the company continued to pioneer larger and more significant solutions for solar power around Kerala and India. Omega Electronics was a major participant in the Village Electrification project bringing solar power to over 5500 families of the remote areas of Kerala. Omega Electronics installed 2950 numbers of solar powered Home Lighting systems under this project.

Omega Electronics' products proved to be the most energy efficient and qualitative in the market. This helped the Company to market its products to the Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) also.

To further indicate market leadership, the company was the first in the world to break the 1 year warranty barrier by announcing in 2001 a 2-year warranty for Solar Lanterns. This message of product maturity and assurance will help the industry move to new levels of customer satisfaction and security.

The company's research and development effort has never stopped pushing beyond the limits of current technology. During the 1990's we developed and manufactured the different types of Solar Charge Controllers, Solar Lanterns, Street lights etc. Presently the R&D team is working on Maximum Power Point Tracking systems and Utility Inverters. These developments in new technology continue to allow the company to look ahead to delivering lower cost systems with high reliability, stability, and high efficiency.

During the 2002, the company moved on to setting up a Solar PV Module manufacturing facility (Ammini Solar) for developing and manufacturing more efficient and cost-effective mono and poly crystalline Solar PV Modules. In 2003, Ammini Solar is expected to produce 1 MW of Solar PV Modules ranging up to 100W Solar PV Modules.
